The only international PropTech conference in Central & South-East Europe is to take place on November, 4

The forum is not just a one-shot event, rather the driver for setting the PropTech ecosystem in this geographic region

PropTech Bulgaria, the national PropTech hub and association of Bulgaria, has announced the second edition of 2021 SEE PropTech Conference to take place on November 4. The forum is the only international PropTech conference in Central & South-East Europe. The event will be broadcasted through Unissu platform (UK) – a strategic partner of the Conference, and will cover whole Europe.

The live-stream production consists of two streams running in parallel on Nov. 4, with a cumulative length of 14 hours. Such an approach makes attendees enjoy a two-day content into a one-day event.

The 2021 conference agenda includes,

▶  sharing expertise on how to enter and expand on 11+ countries’ markets, namely, Germany, Slovakia, Austria, Italy, Bulgaria, Hong Kong & China,  Belgium, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, and counting;

▶  funding opportunities and the latest updates on European Commission initiatives shared by prof. Rudy Aernoudt, Senior Economist European Commission; funding specifics of Germany will reach to us by blackprint VC fund, Frankfurt; and funding and expansion opportunities in Austria will be displayed and exemplified by Vienna Business Agency;

▶  how the challenges resulting from Covid-19, which block the smooth operation of office & retail asset classes, are being met by tech solutions, with the special participation of world-renowned companies as Hyper[in] (Finland) and Rysta (Germany),

▶  improving the Due Diligence processes in real estate investment with keynote & panel participation of Recognyte (UK) and OrthoGraph (Hungary).

Registration having started on September 4, we have already large property developers enlisted as attendees, global tech companies, and international real estate agencies with operations in Bulgaria who want to benefit from this one-off source on PropTech trends in our region.

The International Business Development Event for European PropTech

Founded by PropTech Bulgaria, the SEE PropTech Conference was launched to give a shared ground to the most innovative players across Central & South-East Europe in Construction and Real Estate. The forum is not just a one-shot event, rather the driver for the creation of the PropTech ecosystem in this geographic region, particularly among the PropTech developed countries such as Bulgaria, Slovakia, Romania, and Czech Republic. Furthermore, the forum puts CEE PropTech companies in the spotlight; defines the specifics of the region which have thus far been treated as a black box.

PropTech Bulgaria has recently published its analytical review on how different European regions stand in terms of number of PropTech companies. Despite the fact that there is still no information about Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Eastern Europe (EE) with its 473 PropTechs ranks higher than South Europe. And once that we have the chance of adding up these missing figures, EE is sure to rank on a par with the Nordics (570 PropTechs), or even outdo them.

The Conference is not an educational event, despite its high-end content. Rather its mission is to foster the international business development and partnerships of all participating companies. With that being said, ticket packages come tailored to the point. Attending companies can tailor their participation according to their needs, and select a combination of,

● Access to the Conference live-stream content – Nov. 4 (Thursday)

● Access to matchmaking – Nov. 3, 5 (Wednesday, Friday)

● Access to 70 tech solutions for Office asset class and 40 tech solutions for Retail, and personal consultancy hours by PropTech Bulgaria and PropTech Slovakia;

● Lists to select for 1-2-1 meetings with preferred tech companies from all over Europe;

● Lead generation information prior and post Conference

Sylvia Pavlova MBA, Founder PropTech Bulgaria, says, ‘There is abundant funding, especially in Western Europe, so lack of external funding is no longer perceived as a setback for expansion. However, funding doesn’t solve the international business development challenges of PropTech companies. This is why we’ll be there to solve them, and tech entrepreneurs just have to capitalize on it, as this forum is one-of-a-kind in Europe.’

The Big Picture

As the point has already been made above, PropTech Bulgaria has recently issued the first full European PropTech Map that makes pretty clear how EE stands. There are 2 clearly defined groups of regions in Europe:

Firstly, BeNeLux & France, followed by the DACH, and the UK. And secondly, the Nordic region, closely followed by Eastern Europe and South Europe.

What about EE funding?

‘Comparing different regions in Europe, we observe that

the funding efficiency (revenue per total amount of funding) is indeed higher in regions of Eastern and Southern European countries, where funding is least abundant. By contrast, the largest European start-up ecosystems in Germany and France have the lowest revenue-per-funding ratios in Europe; nevertheless, they still generate about 1.5 times more revenue per dollar invested than B2B start-ups in the United States.’ (McKinsey, 2021) This is why fuelling EE PropTechs with more funding will lead to an irrevocable boost of the whole geographic region.
